Kids Walk For Wounded Warriors
Last year our grandmother Suzanne started a new yearly tradition in honor of our Papa Jack. Papa Jack cares a lot about people. He is the type of man that thinks about other people before himself. Each one of Papa's children have kids of their own now. Suzanne gives each one of these families, specifically the grandchildren, $100 to spend on a charity that helps people in need. And each year, Ailey, Mia and I try to build on that donation in order to make n even bigger donation to the charity we choose.
This year we have chosen The Wounded Warrior Project as our charity. We feel that this charity is a good one to support right now since there are such a large number of wounded veterans returning home from Afghanistan and Iraq. And for us, our military history goes way back. We have an uncle who is currently serving actively in Germany with the Navy. Our father Eric, our Papa Leo, and our Great Uncle Kevin are all former Marines. We have two great grandfathers, 4 great uncles, and one great aunt who served in the Army, Navy or AirCorps during World War II and we have a cousin who served in the Army during Vietnam. These family member's military service helped us to understand even more about the sacrifices that all veterans make and has made this cause very important to us. So we now would like to honor as well as lend a hand to the wounded veterans of today. In the end, choosing The Wounded Warrior Project as our charity was an easy decision.
Our Plan - On December 11th at 8:30 sharp we will be walking approximately 2 miles to raise money for this charity. We will donate the $100 from our grandmother Suzanne, but will also donate all the money donated to our walk to this charity as well.
We would like to invite both kids and adults to this event. It will take place at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter. We particularly want to invite our friends from school to join our fundraising team so that we can raise as much as possible for this event as a team. We will be walking whether there is sun, rain, sleet, or snow in honor of our wounded warriors.

Wacky Dad Interviewed By The Providence Journal!
Update! Our snow making article will be in Projo tomorrow. Just got a call from the editor!
Well all of the snow finally caught the media's attention today! Cathy got a knock on the door by someone who works at Projo. Turns out they like snow too and it was all history from there! We got interviewed, had photos taken (I didn't get very dressed up) and it looks like they are going to run an article on our snow! Should be fun! In the meantime here is todays video of the snow making progress!

PROJECTED OPENING DATE FOR BROOK HILL IS 12/11/10
We are making snow again tonight! Everyone it looks like Mother Nature may be agreeable enough to allow us to open the Brook Hill sledding area on this coming Saturday! Stay tuned for more details!

My Fathers Memories of My Snow Making Beginnings
Well it all started in the mid eighties when Eric was about 12 years old. I decided that it was about time to introduce him to skiing, and brought him to a local ski area for his first skiing experience.
He took to skiing well that first day, but he was as fascinated by the snowmaking equipment as he was the skiing.
I explained the basic principle of the equipment to him, and mentioned that we had an air compressor at home and could probably make a miniature version of the snow gun that fascinated him so much.
From that moment on, he became obsessed (a Costantino trait) with making snow.
Eric experimented with all sorts of devices. Old electric paint sprayers, garden sprayers, and a host of other gadgets that he would make to try to properly atomize water.
After watching this obsession for a couple of years, I decided that his dedication to this folly warranted some encouragement. I took him to the local hardware store to buy the parts to build a snow gun that I was convinced would work perfectly.
I was wrong.
Please understand that Costantino males do not like to be wrong in mechanical matters.
I left Eric to continue his experiments with renewed enthusiasm.
He developed this new contraption until it hardly resembled the original snow gun I envisioned.
I remember well the cold Thanksgiving day that Eric came running into the house proclaiming
IT WORKS!
IT WORKS!
It's making snow.
Well, having heard this proclamation before, (Eric's definition of snow had become quite liberal by this time) I was not quite as excited as he was.
Being a cool dad though, I went outside to see what all the fuss was about.
Eric was right. His snow gun was indeed making some really nice snow.
It was leaking all over the place, but it was making snow.
