Bucket list update!

Hey everyone!   I recently skiied tramline at Cannon Mountain which  is historically closed most of the time.  It was everything I thought it would be - rocky, steep, and tons of fun.  Highly recommended!   I managed to get down unscathed.  More than I can say for a little run in I had with 2 birch trees last week. I smashed both kneecaps, sprained a finger and bruised some ribs. Nothing serious though.  I still took Mia out for afternoon skiing that day and managed to finish out the rest of the week with the help of my friend Motrin!
So anyway I crossed that off the list, but realized I forgot to add skiing Tuckerman's Ravine to the list.  Tuckerman's is on Mt. Washington in NH.  Anyone who want to call themselves a true NH skiier has to put a check on this box.  I am going to try to put a trip together with a couple of Skiing buddies this year.  I need to shorten up my list!   Thank you for all of your continued support of my blog.  All three of you serious Followers are great!   Hell even my father doesn't come here anymore!   He bought a Kindle for Christmas and got the sucker permanently attached to himself.  He's read about 30 books since he got it. I wonder where I get my obsessiveness from.   Still loving my blog actually!   I have found it hard to keep writing as much as I want to but I going to keep plugging away until Wacky Dad is a household name!

Deep Sea Fishing...What an experience!

So, I went on an amazing Deep Sea Fishing trip on my recent vacation to Mexico.  It was a great time and only 20 minutes into the trip, we got our one and only catch of the day.  I was lucky enough to be the guy closest to the boat seat so down I sat and the fight began.  55 minutes later, my 9 foot friend was pulled in, wrangled on board for a few photos and then released back into the sea to fight another day.
I spent the rest of the day scanning the seas like a diligent Former Marine, looking for another catch for some other boat-mates but did so to no avail.  In the end, the day was awesome and I am definitely going to sign up for another ride out onto the high seas.  And next time, I'm draggin' the wife and kids along!
*And Just a little side note- this trip idea will be added to my next list of great things to give a dad for a present.  Can't go wrong giving the gift of a Chartered Day of Deep Sea Fishing.

Famous Cabo Arch!

About 40 minutes into the fight-
yup Sweating!

Amazing

A great fight by both of us!

One final shot and back to the sea he went!

Quality time on a chairlift "I'm thinkin' of an animal game"

Another great reason to ski...the "I am thinkin' of an animal game" played between cousins while riding up the chairlift. These guys had not seen each other in 6 months and the ride up the mountain was a time for Instant bonding, reconnections and lots of laughs and fun. And hell, they even learned a thing or two about the animal kingdom.

Maple Syrup Is In Full Swing! Exciting Video!

It's maple syrup season everyone!  I did a boil last night - around 4 gallons or so, and a larger boil tonight  - probably about 9-10 gallons.  The trees are running like crazy today and are still running as we speak!  It is one of the strongest sap runs I have seen.  There is something about a cold night followed by a warm rainy day that makes the trees spout sap like mad!  I was up until after midnight last night finishing my syrup and I am headed in the same direction tonight unfortunately!  I am one tired unit but what is the saying?  You have to make syrup while the trees run?  Ahhh whatever.  I am a little punch drunk and super tired.  I am posting a super exciting video of me in a semi zombie state last night as I finished the syrup after midnight.  You might find it interesting, amusing, boring - not sure,  you be the judge.  I did forget just how slow the whole process is though.  It is like watching paint dry - definitely a 6 pack event!

Happy Flapjacks!

The Monster Snow Pile

Ok everyone I am back.  I took 2 vacations in a row with a week in between so blogging has been difficult.  I have a lot of photo and video editing to do from my trips and will be updating you on all of that good stuff.  This is a video of the last of my snowmaking for the season - I think anyway - might get bored again!  Anyway enjoy my man made monster snow pile!  I have a lot of content to cover in the next few posts.  Including Maple Syrup Season - It is up and running!

Love,
