I really have no plan about how this blog is going to shake out. I am just going to talk about some of the stupid and fun things that I do in my life and try to entertain people. I am probably much less entertaining than I think I am, but confidence has never been an issue for me, so if you don't like my blog I don't really care although I hope you do!
Anybody know what this is? This is the culmination of one of my hobbies. I await your guesses!
Ok. You guessed it! It is Maple syrup at it's completion! This is an awesome thing to do with your kids and it is virtually free. The first year I tapped my trees I used old pieces from one of my snowmakers (another story) and drilled around 4 taps in a couple of trees. We ended up with around a gallon of fresh maple syrup all told by the end of the season. "Backyard Sugaring" is a great way to get the family together on a late winter day! It also smells awesome! Don't forget to buy a bottle of wine or at least a six pack of beer! Boiling your sap down takes a long time!
